Junos OS (SRX firewalls)
CVE-2026-101975: Improper OSPF LSA validation causes an rpd crash when prefix-SID best-route installation is used
A Reachable Assertion vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an adjacent OSPF peer to cause a denial of service via OSPF traffic processed while OSPF Source Packet Routing best-route Prefix-SID installation is configured.

In short
A flaw in the routing protocol daemon allows an adjacent OSPF peer to trigger a reachable assertion. By sending specific OSPF traffic while OSPF Source Packet Routing best-route Prefix-SID installation is configured, an attacker can cause a denial of service. This attack requires no authentication or user interaction and can be executed from an adjacent network.

The vendor's description
A Reachable Assertion vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an adjacent OSPF peer to cause a denial of service via OSPF traffic processed while OSPF Source Packet Routing best-route Prefix-SID installation is configured.

Workarounds
If OSPF packet processing on an enabled interface isn't needed, but it has just been configured so that it's added to the LSDB, ensure it's configured as 'passive': [ protocols ospf area <area> interface <interface> passive ]
Exploitation
Juniper SIRT is not aware of any malicious exploitation of this vulnerability.
